SIX SIGMA Glossary: Precision

The precision of a measurement system refers to its sensitivity and repeatability over the operating range of measurement. This includes the size of the measurement, variations over time etc. It has been said that the relationship between precision and repeatability is similar to the relationship between linearity and bias.
