The 'Natural Process Limits' are a measure of the variation in a process. The natural process limits are positioned at plus and minus three standard deviations from the target. Thus, if the process is stable, about 99.7% of the process output will be within the natural process limits.
If the natural tolerance limits are within the specification limits, the Cp value is greater than 1.
