Foldover Designs

Foldover designs are used in experimental design. If the results of a Resolution III fractional factorial design are ambiguous then the experiment can be converted to a Resolution IV design by 'folding over ' the original design. This involves carrying out an additional series of tests that use the original design matrix but with the signs of all the factors reversed (factors that were at the low level in the original tests are at high level in the new tests, and vice versa).

The Design of Experiments is covered in the MiC Quality basic Design of Experiments course and Advanced Design of Experiments course.
