SIX SIGMA Glossary: Beta Risk

In hypothesis testing the beta (β ) risk is the risk of making a type II error. A type II error occurs when there is a 'special cause' but the test results do not show that the null hypothesis should be rejected.

The beta risk equals 1 minus the Power of the test.
