c Chart

The c-chart is a type of attribute control chart that is used to plot the number of nonconformities per unit when the sample size is constant. The control limits are:

Upper Control Limit
c chart UCL
Lower Control Limit
c chart LCL

the average number of conformities per unit.

The c-chart is used to deal with situations where each unit can have several nonconformities. This is distinct from the np chart, which is used when units are either conforming or not.

The selection, design and use of control charts is covered in the MiC Quality courses Statistical Process Control and Advanced Statistical Process Control.
